 Sonnet 18

 Shall I compare thee to a summer?s day?

 Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

 Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

 And summer?s lease hath all too short a date:

 Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines

 And often is his gold complexion dimmed;

 And every fair from fair sometimes declines,

 By chance or nature?s changing course untrimmed;

 But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

 Nor lose possession of that fair thou own;

 Nor shall death brag thou wander in his shade,

 When in eternal lines to time thou grow:

 So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

 So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

 By William Shakespeare

 妳可是更加可愛,更加溫婉;

 夏季的日子又未免太短暫;

 他那金彩的臉色也會被被遮暗;

 被時機或者自然的代謝所摧殘;

 妳永遠不會失去妳美的形象;

 妳將在不朽的詩中與時間同長;

 Blow, blow, thou(妳,爾,汝) winter wind,

 Thou art not so unkind

 As man's ingratitude(忘恩負義) ;

 Thy(妳的) tooth is not so keen(敏銳的,渴望的)

 Because thou art not seen,

 Although thy breath be rude.

 Heigh ho! sing heigh ho! unto(到,直到) the green holly:

 Most friendship is feigning(假裝) , most loving mere folly;

 Then, heigh ho! the holly!

 This life is most jolly.

 Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,

 That dost not bite so nigh(在附近的,直接的)

 As benefits forgot:

 Though thou the waters warp(彎曲,偏見) ,

 Thy sting(刺痛,諷刺) is not so sharp

 As friendship remember'd not.

 Heigh-ho! sing heigh-ho! unto the green holly:

 Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly(愚蠢,荒.唐事) ;

 Then, heigh-ho! the holly!

 This life is most jolly.

 人世之寡情;

 受施而忘恩;
