而some time 是指壹些時間
它不過是由形容詞some和名詞time構成的壹個短語，有其固定的含義。它的含義人們通常認為只表示壹個時間段即“若幹時間”。它除了含有此意外，還具有和sometime相同意思的含義，即“某時、某日。”sometime壹般表示時間點，而some time 即可以表示時間段（若幹時間），也可以表示時間點（某時）。換句話說，若表示時間段，只能用some time; 若表示是間點是，sometime和some time可以互換使用，哪個都行。
如：
1. She stayed here for some time. 她在此呆過壹段時間。

other 可以做形容詞，表示其他的，比如other people其他的人。
也可以做代詞，但是做代詞時壹般不以原形出現，壹般用以"the other"或者以復數形式“others”出現。
others
和some對比使用時, 是“有些”的意思而不是做“其他”講, 如:Some cleaned the windows, others mopped the floor. 有的擦窗戶, 有的擦地板。
the others
是“其余的”意思, 表示在壹個範圍內的其他全部, 如: This dictionary is better than the others. 這本字典比別[其余]的好。
the other
是其中的“另壹個”, 如:Give me the other one; not this one. 給我那壹個, 不是這壹個。
兩個中的“另壹個”是“the other”; 不定數目中的“另壹個”是“another” , 如:This glass is broken. Get me another. 這個杯子壞了, 給我另拿壹個來。(在許多杯子中的壹個)
