壹座有著2500年歷史的江南古城，壹幢取名為“過雲樓”的百年私家藏書樓。樓主人顧麟士與才女虞枕書因書得緣，演繹出壹段以書為媒的愛情佳話，壹段悲歡離合的曠世姻緣。
收藏大家顧麟士四處奔波，矢誌尋訪祖上幾代人尋覓未得的稀世古籍《錦繡萬花谷》，以不負“過雲樓收藏甲天下”的譽稱。楓橋碼頭，顧麟士與家中落難的虞枕書偶遇。他們相逢、相戀、相愛，走進了婚姻的殿堂。虞枕書隨嫁妝將秘藏的《錦繡萬花谷》帶入了過雲樓。顧麟士抱得美人歸，又得鎮樓之寶，雙喜臨門。怎奈何，腥風血雨中的國難當頭，粉墻黛瓦下的家族興衰，顧麟士、虞枕書相知、相依、相守，與稀世珍寶壹道經歷了跌宕起伏、悲歡離合的命運。

Synopsis to the Grand Original Musical Splendid Guoyun Lou
In an ancient city which boasts of 2,500 years of history in the south of the Yangrtze River, there is a century-old private mansion called Guoyun Lou.Gu Linshi, the owner of the mansion, and Yu Zhenshi, a talented woman, became attached to each other due to a national treasure of ancient book. Since then, a love story with a book acting as the matchmaker and an outstanding marriage full of partings and reunions were staged.
Gu Linshi, a famous collector, ran around and was determined to look for Splendid Blossoms Valley, a rare ancient book, which had been searched hard by his former generations of ancestors in order to live up to the reputation of Collections of Guoyun Lou rank top throughout the world. At Maple Bridge Pier, Gu Linshi encountered Yu Shenshi who was then in distress. They met, fell in love, love, and got affected and married. Shen Zhenshi took Splendid Blossoms Valley which was kept secretly into Guoyun Lou along with her dowry. Gu Linshi was so luck that he married a beauty and obtained the treasure book at the same time. However, since the country was faced with crucial crisis then, Gu Linshi and Yu Shenshi experienced ups and downs, vicissitudes of life while they were living and relying on each other along with the rare treasure.
