壹、find意為"發現、發覺"
作此意解時,其後接賓語+賓補(分詞、形容詞、副詞、名詞、介詞短語或to be)。作賓補的動詞用現在分詞還是過去分詞取決於動詞同賓語之間的關系。
A group of children were found playing on the playground. 有人發現壹群孩子正在操場上玩耍。
We have found him (to be) a dishonest person. 我們發現他是壹個不誠實的孩子。

二、find意為"找到、尋找"
應當註意,find作"找到,尋找"解時,側重尋找的結果;而look for則側重尋找的過程。

三、find後接從句
find後可接that-clause,表示"發現壹個事實、道理"。

四、find,discover 及invent的區別
find和discover均可用於指偶然發現或通過研究的發現。find是較非正式用詞,表示找到或發現的意思。discover指通過有意識地尋找或查詢,發現某種已經存在的現象或事物。invent則表示發明以前不存在的東西。
