大意如此:
沒有人是個(孤)島,獨自壹人
每個人是大洲的壹小塊
屬於大陸的壹部分
如果壹塊土地被海洋沖走了
歐洲就變(縮)小了
如果沖走壹個海峽也是這樣
好像沖走妳朋友的莊園
或者是妳自己的莊園,也是如此這樣)
任何人的死都使我(覺得)渺小
因為我是屬於人類之壹
故此,不要派人去打聽
死亡鐘聲是為誰而敲 ?
