I know.
It's all wrong. By rights, we shouldn't even be here. But we are here.
It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The one's that really mattered, full of darkness and danger they were.
And sometimes you didn't want to know the end… Because how could the end be happy?
How could the world go back to the way it was...When so much bad had happened?
But in the end, it's only a passing thing...this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you… that meant something.
Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand.
I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going... because they were holding on to something.
Mr. Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.佛羅多：我辦不到。
山姆：
我知道。
這不公平。我們本來就不該來。但是我們來了。
這就像我們聽過的精彩故事，歌頌偉大的事跡，充滿了黑暗和危險。
有時妳不想知道結局。因為怎麽可能有快樂結局？
發生這麽多可怕的事情，這世界怎麽可能回到從前？
但是最後可怕的陰影，終究會消失。就連黑暗也會消失。嶄新的壹天將會來臨。太陽也會散發更明亮的光芒。
這才是讓人永生難忘，意義非凡的感人故事。
縱使妳太年輕不明白為什麽，但是我想我明白了。
我現在明白了。這些故事裏的主角有很多機會半途而廢，但是他們並沒有。他們決定勇往直前，因為他們抱著壹種信念。
佛羅多：我們抱著什麽信念？

She had ribbons in her hair.
If ever I was to marry someone... It would've been her… It would've been her.
Mr. Frodo:
I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee...Here at the end of all things.

Mr. Frodo:
How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back.
There are some things that time can not mend. Some hurts that go too deep...that have taken hold.
Mr. Frodo:
My dear Sam, you cannot always be torn in two. You will have to be one and whole for many years.You have so much to enjoy and to be, and to do. Your part in this story will go on.
Frodo:It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance.
弗羅多：可惜比爾博沒殺了他。
Gandalf:Pity?It is pity that stayed Bilbo's hand.Many that live deserve death.Some that die deserve life.Can you give it to them,Frodo?Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgment.Even the very wise cannot see all ends.
甘道夫：可惜？比爾博是可憐他才沒殺了他。有很多活人本來就該死，也有些死人本來也命不該絕。妳能做這種判斷嗎，弗羅多？千萬別輕易斷定別人的生死，就連智者都無法決定命運。
Galadriel:This task was appointed to you.And if you do not find a way,no one will.

Frodo:Then I know what I must do.It's just...I'm afraid to do it.

Galadriel:Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Frodo:I wish the Ring had never come to me.I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf:So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide.All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.

Faramir:Then it is forfeit.Release them.

Sam:Captain Faramir,you have shown your quality,sir.The very highest.

Faramir:The Shire must truly be a great realm,Master Gamgee,where gardeners are held in high honor.

Sam:I wonder if we'll ever be put into songs or tales.

Frodo:What?

Sam:I wonder if people will ever say,"let's hear about Frodo and the Ring."And they'll say,"yes!That's one of my favourite stories.Frodo was relly courageous,wasn't he,Dad?""Yes,my boy.The most famousest of Hobbits.And that's saying a lot."

Frodo:Well,you've left out one of the chief characters:"Samwise the Brave."I want to hear more about Sam.Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam.

Sam:Now,Mr.Frodo,you shouldn't make fun.I was being serious.

Frodo:So was I.

Subordinate:He leaves because there is no hope.

Théoden:No,we cannot.But we will meet them in battle nonetheless.

Gandalf:End?No,the journey doesn't end here.Death is just another path one that we all must take.The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass.And then you see it.

Peregrin:What,Gandalf? See what?

Gandalf:White shores and beyond.A far green country under a swift sunrise.

Peregrin:Well,that isn't so bad.

Gandalf:No.No,it isn't.

Nazgul:You fool.No man can kill me.Die now.

Eowyn:I am no man.

Gimli:Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an Elf.

Sam:Do you remember the taste of strawberries?

Frodo:No,Sam.I can't recall the taste of food nor the sound of water nor the touch of grass.I'm...naked in the dark.There's-There's nothing.No veil between me and the wheel of fire.I can see him with my waking eyes.
弗羅多：不，山姆。我記不起食物的味道，記不起水聲，記不起綠草的觸感，我……赤裸地躺在黑暗裏。空無壹物。我和魔眼之間毫無阻隔。我可以看見它，僅憑我的肉眼。
Sam:Then let us be rid of it once and for all.Come on,Mr Frodo.I can't carry it for you,but I can carry you.Come on!
山姆：那讓我們除掉它吧，壹勞永逸。來吧，弗羅多老爺。我無法替妳攜帶魔戒，但我可以背妳。來吧！
