羅伯特·弗羅斯特（Robert ·Frost ）（1874—1963)，美國農民詩人。生於加利福尼亞州。弗羅斯特常被稱為“交替性的詩人”，意指他處在傳統詩歌和現代派詩歌交替的壹個時期。他又被認為與艾略特同為美國現代詩歌的兩大中心。
在美國，弗羅斯特廣泛受其人民的尊敬。在他的壹生中，他曾四次獲得美國享譽最高的普利策文學獎。

I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain --and back in rain.
I have oualked the furthest city light.
I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes
unwilling to explain.
