II.steal表示"偷",其賓語是被偷的東西,而不是人或場所,通常說steal sth. from sb./a place. rob的賓語不是被搶劫的東西,而是被搶劫的人或場所,通常說rob sb./a place of sth.反過來就是錯的.
e.g. 1. They stole all our money=They robbed us of all money.(錯誤:They stole us. or They robbed all our money)
III. 用於被動語態時,steal 和rob 的含義有所不同.
e.g. Their boat was stolen. 他們的船被偷了.(船不見了0
Their boat was robbed. 他們的船被搶了.(穿上的東西被搶了,但還在).
