1)Merrian—Webster Collegiate Dictionay (11版)的頭條解釋:an observable fact or event
2)Longman Dictionary of Contemporay English
something that happens or exists in society, science,
or nature, especially something that is studied because
it is difficult to understand
原例:the growing phenomenon of telecommuting
Homelessness is not a new phenomenon .
Magnetic attraction is an interesting phenomenon. / The employment problem tends to be a city phenomenon.
incident:1 something that happens, especially sth unusual
or unpleasant
2 a serious or violent event, such as a crime,
an accident or an attack
3 a disagreement between two countries, often
involving military forces
