Thoughts on a Quiet Night
Moonlight before my bed，
Bleak and chilly，
Afar， a solitary lamp
Dangles， the lonely eye of the city.
Gazing at the bright disk，
Distracted， I pillow my head
And fall to idly speculating
On the pure and chaste solitude.
It’s a day without a single cloud，
The Milky Way， a clear stream；
The autumn wind， a gentle breeze，
The moonlight， a sheet of ice.
The lamp casts my lonely shadow
On the still and peaceful ground；
The bedspread is a world of peace，
A world without strife or sound.
The city’s hubbub is far away，
The world’s dust is not in sight；
The ghosts and immortals may roam
And sport at will. The still and wise of the land
Will take my thoughts. My simple soul
Wanders alone without a home；
Away from the world’s scene of strife，
I gaze at the frosty moonlight.
中秋節文化
1、中秋節是流行於全國眾多民族中的傳統文化節日，因其恰值三秋之半，故得此名。據說此夜月亮最大最圓最亮。
2、從古至今人們都有中秋之夜飲宴賞月的習俗，回娘家的媳婦是日必返夫家，以寓圓滿、吉慶之意。其起源於上古時代，普及於漢代，定型於唐朝初年，盛行於宋朝以後，與春節、清明節、端午節並稱為中國四大傳統節日。
