牛津詞典前面，讀音和音標是這樣解釋的：如果某個單詞的英式讀音和美式讀音有差異，這先給出英式讀音，在美式讀音前用NAmE標示。

If there is a difference between British and American pronunciations of a word, the British one is given first, with NAmE before the American prounciation.
