雨霖鈴：The Rain-soaked Bell
寒蟬淒切，對長亭晚，驟雨初歇。
A cold cicada chirps dolefully,
In the twilight near the distant rest stop.
When the showers has just ended.
都門帳飲無緒，方留戀處，蘭舟催發，
In the tent outside the city gate, the drinking went on uninterrupted,
I cannot tear myself away,
but the manoglia boat beckons.
執手相看淚眼，竟無語凝噎。
Holding hands we watch each other's falling tears
With lumps in our throats, we are lost for words.
念去去千裏煙波，暮靄沈沈楚天闊。
All I can think of is the thousands of li (s) of rolling misty wave,
Beneath the darking and suffocating broad southern sky.
多情自古傷離別，
更哪堪冷落清秋節！
From time immemorial, lovers mourn the sorrow of parting.
This bleak chilly autumn air makes it all the more uninviting.
今宵酒醒何處？楊柳岸，曉風殘月。
Where will I be when I awake from my drunken slumber ?
Nothing but the morning breeze among the willow banks under a fading moon ( to keep me company) .
此去經年，應是良辰好景虛設。
便縱有千種風情，更與何人說！
For years to come, all the nice mornings and charming views
will be wasted on me.
Although I will have a thousand tender thoughts to give, there is no one around to receive.
