Farewell on the Ancient Grassland

離離原上草，
Lush grasses spread on the plain,
壹歲壹枯榮。
Withering in autumn and flourishing in spring every year.
野火燒不盡，
Wild fires can’t destroy them fully,
春風吹又生。
And they grow again in the spring breeze.
遠芳侵古道，
The grasses with their scent spread far and invade the ancient roads.
晴翠接荒城。
And the sunny green joins the ruined city.
又送王孫去，
Again I am to see you off,a close friend of mine,
萋萋滿別情。
And our farewell affection is as deep as the luxuriant grass.

1. 賦得：借古人詩句或成語命題作詩，詩題前壹般都冠以“賦得”二字，稱為"賦得體"。
2. 離離：青草茂盛的樣子。
3. 壹歲壹枯榮：枯，枯萎。榮，茂盛。野草每年都會枯萎壹次，茂盛壹次。
4. 遠芳侵古道：遠芳，草香遠播。侵，侵占，長滿。芳草綿延不絕覆蓋著古老的驛道。
5. 晴翠：草原明麗翠綠。
6. 王孫：本指貴族後代，此指遠方的友人。
7. 萋萋：形容草木長得茂盛的樣子。
