英文原詩——
Down by the Salley Gardens my love and I did meet
She passed the Salley Gardens with little snow-white feet
She bid me take love easy as the leaves grow on the tree
But I being young and foolish with her would not agree

葉芝（1865年~1939年），愛爾蘭大詩人，“愛爾蘭文藝復興運動”領袖。葉芝的詩受浪漫主義、唯美主義、神秘主義、象征主義的影響，風格獨特。
葉芝最著名的詩歌是“當妳老了”，壹般文藝愛好者應該都讀過；現在被人改變成流行歌曲，傳唱壹時，聽歌的人卻並不壹定知道是葉芝的原作。
這首“莎園漫步”也是葉芝名作，之前被譯為“經過柳園”，在歐美早被譜曲傳唱。
之前流傳的譯文基本上不押韻，而英文詩是很講究韻腳的，於是鬥膽出手，翻譯了壹回。自認為還不錯，反正有韻腳。
