端午節為每年農歷五月初五，又稱端陽節、午日節、五月節等。“端午節”為中國國家法定節假日之壹，並已被列入世界非物質文化遺產名錄。端午節起源於中國，最初是中國人民祛病防疫的節日，吳越之地春秋之前有在農歷五月初五以龍舟競渡形式舉行部落圖騰祭祀的習俗；後因詩人屈原在這壹天死去，便成了中國人民紀念屈原的傳統節日。
